The European Union recently notified France that it could face fines for failing to adequately protect the Great Hamsters of Alscase, which dwell in the vicinity of Salsbourg, which we visited in 2000. Unfortunately, we didn't see any of the Great Hamsters, which are an endangered species. Great Hamsters of Alsace
