Spanish-American War

On April 25, 1898, President William McKinley sent Congress a letter requesting a declaration of war against Spain, hostilities having already commenced. On April 28, 1898, Congress declared war on Spain recognizing that the Spanish-American War had begun. The depiction of the Charge of the Rough Riders at San Juan Hill is by Frederic Remington.
