Some of Grandmother Ogle's Plates
My sister Laura has done some research on these dishes, which our grandparents used during the summer, from Blue Ridge Southern Pottery. The pottery operated in Irwin, Tennessee, from the late 1930's until it closed in 1957.
I knew these were valuable, and it’s a shame we’ve lost them. The dinner plates are selling for $65.95 each on Replacements.LTD website. They’re even more on places like EBay. In case you don’t remember the story, Grandmother and Paulene dug through barrels on the sidewalk at Hammers trying to find matches of this pattern. They paid $.25 cents each for them! I found out the name of the pattern is “Weathervane.”
I wonder if they are at our cabin.
