A documentary, The Color Orange: The Condredge Holloway Story, premiered last night in Knoxville at the Tennessee Theater, and from what I can tell from the news reports, the place was packed with University of Tennessee football luminaries. The documentary, narrated by country music star Kenny Chesney of Powell, tells the story of the first black starting quarterback in the Southeastern Conference, who led the Vols to three bowl games from 1972 to -74. I was nine in 1972, and I remember drawing pictures of Condredge with crayons and wearing an orange jersey with his number 7 on it as a kid. Condredge's mother worked in the same building as my father, and they were acquaintances. The documentary airs on ESPN Sunday night at 8:00 p.m.
