Click read more if you want to know what Randy Orton is up to on this week's Smackdown.

Sheamus tells Christian that they should have a triple threat. But Christian says that he knows that he is lying and tells him to focus on Randy Orton.

6th Match
Randy Orton beat Sheamus with the World Title on the line and Christian as special referee.
At one point Sheamus had Orton pinned but Christian went to selling his arm from Sheamus hitting him. Orton hits a nice RKO on Sheamus for the win. After the match, Christian lays out Orton with the World Title belt to end the show.

Weismuller's Jungle Jim joins Warner Archives

The Warner Bros. Archive program has rolled out a bunch of Johnny Weissmuller jungle movies. It's mostly Jungle Jim stuff, but there's also one (Jungle Moon Men) where he plays himself as a jungle expert thanks to all his experience as Jim and Tarzan.

I've bought a few collections through the Warner Archive and it's good stuff. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but the prints and packaging are better than they have to be considering this is the only legitimate way you're going to be able to own this stuff. Planning on getting some of these.

Buffett Show and New Neighbor at the Cabin

We've had a busy and fun Memorial Day weekend. We were able to check into our hotel early on Saturday before meeting up with Sherry and the kids at the Hillsboro Village Bosco's, the site of my first date with Sherry. After lunch we went back to the hotel so that the kids could have a dip in the pool, and Sherry dropped us off downtown later in the day for the Buffett show. Laura, Leslie and Frazier all had seats together, but mine was a solo seat. Fortunately, there were plenty of seats where La and Les and Fraz were, so we got to sit together after all. Buffett played a bunch of old songs, which we all enjoyed, and although there were locusts this year (well, cicadas) there was no flood.

We headed to our cabin in Estill Springs Sunday after breakfast to meet our friend Johnny, who already had chairs set up in the creek. To our surprise, there is now a house across Rock Creek Road from the cabin on the property Grandmother and Granddaddy sold to help pay for our education. There were people outside when we got there, and I went next door to introduce myself. I was again surprised to find that the owner of the new house was Granddaddy's home health nurse during the last year or so of his life. She's owned the property for years and decided to build a home on it and live there, which means there will be someone right next door to keep an eye on the place for us.

Pollen Under an Electron Microscope

I used to never worry about allergies, or hay fever as Mom likes to call it, but as I age I find myself feeling their effects. Everybody has been sneezing, including our cats. Check out some more images of pollen taken with an electron microscope at Things I Think Are Kinda Cool.

WWE RAW results [May 30,2011]

Eve & Kelly Kelly def. The Bella Twins (WATCH |PHOTOS)
When Eve & Kelly Kelly clashed with Divas Champion Brie Bella & her sister, Nikki, one dominant Diva was most assuredly on their minds. After her bizarre breakdown last week, Kharma was scheduled to address the WWE Universe later in the evening, which may have been why she didn’t show up during the match. As a result, Eve & Kelly enjoyed a successful match, in which the gorgeous duo toppled the sinister siblings.

Totally forgot to post these earlier. I also forgot to bring my camera on Sunday, so I didn't get as many pictures as I usually do.

A Meaningful Memorial Day

Image from Darwyn Cooke's New Frontier.

It always sounds weird to me to wish someone a Happy Memorial Day. I'm not sure that happiness is the right emotion on a day for remembering the people who died protecting their country. On the other hand, I'm not sure that it's not the right emotion when combined with gratitude. Either way, I'm certainly not going to refrain from eating bratwurst and potato salad with friends; I just hope to do some reflecting as well.

For those of you in the US (or anyone else who wants to participate), I hope the day is meaningful for you.

Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day, on which Americans remember the many members of the armed services who have died for our country. It was originally known as Decoration Day, and people observed it by decorating the graves of the military dead.

Restaurant Review -- Swiss Chalet Rotisserie Grill, Delray Beach, Florida

As we get closer to our annual family vacation, I've been thinking about Florida, though today I am thinking about further south in Florida than where we spend our week each summer on the panhandle. When Mom lived in Deerfield Beach, which is between Daytona Beach and Fort Lauderdale and is just south of Boca Raton, we used to buy rotisserie grilled chicken from the Swiss Chalet Rotisserie Grill, which is located at 4961 W Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33445-3894, telephone (561) 496-5299. Locals just call it the Swiss Chalet. We always called ahead to order our food, and they had it packaged up and ready to take home by the time you could drive there. They also had a wonderful onion loaf, which was onion battered and deep fried like onion rings.

SCBWI Southern Breeze Gallery Show - 2011

Friday evening marked the opening of the 2011 SCBWI Southern Breeze Gallery Show at Little Shop of Stories, during the Decatur (GA) Arts Festival's opening night ArtWalk celebration. Six of our published members showed work representing 13 currently available picture books. The represented artists were: Laura Freeman, Mark Braught, Laura Knorr, Michael Austin, Shadra Strickland, and Yours Truly. The number made for a lovely presentation in the store:

Hanging out for much of opening night were:

Laura Freeman, Michael Austin, Mark Braught, Yours Truly, and former Southern Breeze Regional Advisor Donna Bowman.
Rather than demonstration drawings, we ended up each adding a line to a drawing in progress, which ended up creating some crazy images and was lots of fun. Bada Bing once again came through on the catering. And, of course, our friends at Little Shop of Stories were incredibly accommodating and supportive - thanks guys!
The show will be up through Memorial Day weekend and the week following, so stop by!
