Holiday Weekend Kick-Off

Laura invited a bunch of us over to cook out at her place near the mouth of the Little River yesterday after work. Our friend Johnny is in town with his children, so we took the kids down to the water to splash around a little while. Laura and Stewart have a kayak, and the kids took turns riding it two at a time as Johnny and I pushed them back and forth. Our friend Jane, a dedicated Boongablogger reader, and her friend Donna also came, with Donna bringing her daughter and a friend, so we ended up with a total of six kids in the river before we went back up to the house to cook some hamburgers. It was a fun afternoon in the sun, and a good start to the holiday weekend.
