Guitar Pickin' Saturday
Some friends invited us over to their lovely home on Morganton Road yesterday. I believe they said the restored farmhouse was originally built in 1901, and they have a wonderful view with farm land and a pond. After a lunch of sandwiches our host broke out a couple of guitars, and we played until my fingertips were sore. It's been a long time since I've played for any significant amount of time, and what calluses I have left on my fingertips are pretty wimpy. Nevertheless, we played for a couple of hours, and the ladies joined in by singing. Our collective children all played well together. It was quite an enjoyable afternoon.
