Winter Solstice

Today is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, which means our days start getting longer beginning tomorrow. Also, there was a lunar eclipse last night, which is the first time a lunar eclipse coincided with the winter solstice in almost 500 years. The photograph of Stonehenge is from the summer solstice on June 21, 2010, from NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day.
