Philip Pullman's fabulous His Dark Materials trilogy is going to the movies with the winter release of The Golden Compass! In this fantasy trilogy, people's souls reside outside of their bodies in the form of animal companions known as daemons. Now, it is true that the Brooks Public Library is not technically a person. However, as Cicero said, "a room without books is like a body without a soul." So, I figured the library was deserving of a daemon too.
